Herschell Gordon Lewis is a man who needs little introduction. As one of the leading exploitation filmmakers of the 1960s and 70s he had a profound impact on the horror genre through his grindhouse efforts. The Herschell Gordon Lewis Collection brings together HG Lewis' classic films over two editions. Along with business partner and producer David F. Friedman, HG Lewis established himself in the sexploitation scene of the early 1960s with numerous 'nudie cuties'. As the shock of exposed of flesh began to wane the pair set about finding new ways to confront and titillate their audiences. The fruit of their labour was a 15-page script that was shot and edited in seven days. Blood Feast was the world's first gore film and started a genre and a style of horror film that moviemakers have been mining ever since.
