As part of the 25th Anniversary of "Kill ‘Em All" and under direct supervision from Metallica, Universal are reissuing their debut record and the second album "Ride The Lightning" on vinyl in May 2008.
Both titles will be released in two versions. One version like the original releases on a single platter at 33 1/3 rpm speed. In addition, a deluxe edition will be available as a double gatefold, 2 disc, 180 gram 45 rpm version. This series will allow Metallica fans the option to hear these legendary recordings as never before... Louder, Faster, Heavier!!! The audios are half speed Mastered from the original analog tapes at Mobile Fidelity for the ultimate listening experience... The best Audiophile Quality!!!
Just a year after their debut, Metallica issued Ride The Lightning; similarly considered a thrash classic. The album spawned the singles ‘Fade To Black’, ‘Creeping Death’ and ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’ – and also a sign of the future – the nine minute instrumental closer ‘The Call Of The Ktulu’. As a whole, it was ambitious and soaring – cementing the band as long-term metal masters.
