The Dandy Warhols formed in Portland in 1994, releasing Dandy Warhols Rule Ok on the indie label Tim/Kerr Records in 1995. Their next three albums (released through Capitol), The Dandy Warhols Come Down (1997), Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia (2000) and Welcome To The Monkey House (2003) put the band on the charts, on TV and in the spotlight with international hits like “Not If You Were The Last Junkie on Earth” and “Bohemian Like You.” The band enjoyed Platinum sales and sell out tours in the UK, Australia & various European countries.
In 2003, the band was chosen by David Bowie to be the supporting act on his Reality Tour and of course, the band was featured alongside the Brian Jonestown Massacre in the infamous cult-smash indie documentary film Dig!, winner of the Grand Jury Best Documentary prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival.
Welcome to the Monkey House (2003) featured collaborations with Nile Rodgers, Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, and Evan Dando
Since parting ways with Capitol, The Dandy Warhols have partnered with World’s Fair Group to launch their own label, Beat The World Records.

On first single and title track: 'Funny track, wholly written with bass and drums not unlike a lot of the Dark Satanic Mills EP. Quite distinct from the rest of the album structurally. Thematically a return to the Eden subject previously explored in the Sunset Studies track 'There Is No Such Place'. - Glenn Richards
Everyone's got their demons and such, keeping them down in their pit can be too much over a flurry of hits in the gut. Here's hopin'. Singin' "Back it on up and start again". I get the sense I may be singin' that for a long while.
'Only By The Night' is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Kings of Leon's position as one of the most important international acts of 2008 and beyond.

Belle and Sebastian release a compilation of BBC recordings spanning the years 1996 - 2001 on Jeepster Recordings. The album tracks the group's development from their first live radio recordings for Mark Radcliffe's show in July 1996, shortly after the release of their 'Tigermilk' album, through to a batch of four, much bootlegged songs recorded for John Peel in 2001
"We've worked hard for a long time, but it’s a tough world to get by in. Anything that doesn't fit the mold scares the music industry," says lyricist and singer Dennis Lyxzén. "We know how this world works; that's just the way it is, But we also recognize the industry is on shaky ground because of that, which is why it's so cool to have someone like Rick (Rubin) believe in you."
