New album from young update New York sibblings and their friend (whose name is simply 'Christmas'), who have toured with and been joined on stage by Bright Eyes, and who have been signed to Conor Oberst's Team Love label in the US. With a personalised and wonderfully loose style often compared to legendary outfit The Band, the Felice Brothers are making serious waves in the US and UK at the moment. Like Gillian Welch, My Morning Jacket, Australia's own CW Stoneking and of course Bob Dylan, these guys take inspiration from older forms of American music and make music that is fresh and contemporary and fully connects with current audiences. Their wonderfully literary songs tells darkly humourous noir-like tales of misfits and outsiders - they could be Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' playful and slightly crazy bastard sons.

Tinderbox is the new album by Fred Eaglesmith. He calls it alternative gospel. (Gospel for non-believers). It's full of backsliders and people living on the margins. It rocks and rolls with distortion and preachers and end times. It happens on dirt roads and in little clearings with snakes and fi eld workers and people driving away. People say it is the best album Fred has ever made. Believe.

You can call it whatever you like, but ask around, and most people just care about whether music is good, or not.
Little Honey mixes country, R & B and blues-rock elements with adventurous aplomb. The disc gets an added octane boost from the powerful chemistry between the musicians, primarily drawn from Williams’ latest road band (now collectively known as Buick 6) - includes bassist David Sutton, Eels veterans Butch Norton and Chet Lyster as well as longtime collaborator Doug Pettibone.
Half Seas Over is an album resonant with story and song. The sparse instrumentation allows the stories of Half Seas Over to be delivered to their utmost power.
The new album serves almost as a 'best of' collection - it features superb reworkings of some of his finest songs, given new color with the help of acclaimed producer and artist Joe Henry
