New Australian film 'The Square' boasts an inspiring music soundtrack written by Australia's prodigal son, Ben Lee. Featuring eleven original songs written and produced by Ben Lee and sung by Australian actress/musician, Jessica Chapnik, 'Original Songs From and Inspired by The Square' is the is the result of a collaborative partnership between some of Australia's most talented actors and musicians. Friends and colleagues since 1999, Producer and Director Nash Edgerton approached Ben Lee with an exciting opportunity - to write the soundtrack to a new movie he was directing. Never having been presented with such an ambitious task, Ben was thrilled to accept the challenge. Having already established a creative and trusted partnership over the last ten years, and Nash having directed a number of his music videos, Ben was the perfect choice to bring the right musical composition to the project. Ben set about creating the record in line with the film's theme.a mix of romantic yearning set against a dark and foreboding backdrop. The result is a mix of songs that Ben had previously written, with a number of songs especially crafted for the film. The perfect vocal accompaniment to Ben's music was Australian actor and singer, Jessica Chapnik. Jessica spent the year touring nationally and internationally with ARIA-award winner Sarah Blasko as a backup singer. She has also performed with Old Man River and has provided guest vocals for the record 'Love Melts Fear' by the Kahn Brothers.

This bunch of songs has immediate appeal and lasting beauty. "Hopefully it will make people raise an eyebrow. We didn't want to just give Panics fans something they are used to. I'd rather people were surprised and hopefully see that there aren't any other guitar groups in this country making records like this "
