New Zealand’s chart topping outfit Shapeshifter are set to release their first ever live album. Recorded with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra this epic recording encapsulates the essence and energy of their mind blowing live shows.
Shapeshifter are heralded as a musical phenomenon for their ground breaking live shows and unique blend of heavy soul/drum and bass. Their reputation as pioneers of modern music was built by a unique approach to electronic music and has earned them widespread critical and commercial acclaim.

The group’s previous album – the award winning ‘Soulstice’ was released in August 2006, and has since achieved Gold and Platinum sales in New Zealand, the group were also awarded a phenomenal 3 awards at the New Zealand Bnet Music Awards taking it out for Best Live Act, Song of the Year and Album of the Year for the groups third effort ‘Soulstice’.
Shapeshifter’s success and reputation have taken the collective all across the globe; they’ve headlined the Hothouse Stage at 2007’a Big Day Out tour and were handpicked by Tool to support them in Melbourne to a massive sold out audience of 15,000, in addition to headlining act the national Parklife Festival.
Shapeshifter have extended their mind blowing performance to the UK/European touring circuit. They have sold out London’s Electric Ballroom, Cargo and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and have also sold out shows throughout Europe.

With an anticipated return to Australian shores around the corner Shapeshifter compliment their next tour with this fine release, their first ever live album. Recorded at the Christchurch Town Hall with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra at the final show of Shapeshifter’s epic sold out 2006 orchestra tour, ‘Live’ features features hits from their three albums including “When I Return”, “Tapestry” and “Bring Change.” This is an extremely special album capturing Shapeshifter’s revolutionary fusion with an orchestra resulting in an unbelievable electric atmosphere.

Shapeshifter Live’s orchestral tracks are arranged by Victoria Kelly and performed with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marc Taddei. The recording was mixed by Tiki Taane, Sam Trevethick and Andre Upston.
