Originally titled Cannibal Orgy, Jack Hill's (Switchblade Sisters, Coffy, Foxy Brown), proto horror-schlock classic followed on from Psycho and pre-dates Blue Velvet. The film follows an inbred family cursed with Merrye's Disease, which transforms three sweet girls into murderous cannibals - one cuts the ear off a messenger sent to their decrepit Victorian mansion to deliver news of the house's confiscation. Caretaker Bruno (Lon Chaney Jr.) tries to reign in the girls when snooty cousin Emily and her husband arrive to take the home. But the kids soon cut loose, hacking everyone up and feeding them to their uncles locked in the basement.
