The Let Go signifies a radical shift in style and sound for the band, a simplified affair, borrowing elements from Garage Soul, Dance-floor Rock and Soul Pop-Rock filtered through a distorted, nostalgic analogue recording.
With a new guitarist joining their ranks (19 year old James Manson), a few months of intense writing sessions and rehearsals, The Let Go was recorded live to tape, only using original mics and gear from pre 1970 by their producer Tony Buchen (Andy Bull, Macromantics) once again at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney
Good Luck the first single from the album, was serviced to radio just 14 days after it was recorded and has been added extensively to playlists around the country. The track embodies the new Kid Confucius: guitars up front, drums roomy and dirty, horns distorted, vocals unbridled and overdriven.
