The thirteenth studio album by The Cure was originally intended to be a double album, however frontman Robert Smith confirmed in recent interviews that this idea was scrapped, despite the fact that 33 songs have been recorded. Smith has said that the album will mostly comprise of the upbeat songs the band recorded, while the darker songs may be released on another album.
"We're a rock band," Peake says. "We like to get heavy and we do like to write stuff that's melodic and maybe a little more mellow. It's nice to have both, and it's nice to have both accepted by the fans. There are some bands that can only put out one kind of thing, but our fans are pretty open so we don't get stuck in one place."
'Only By The Night' is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Kings of Leon's position as one of the most important international acts of 2008 and beyond.
The wait is over. The new album from Guns N' Roses, Chinese Democracy, has arrived. The disc, which features 14 brand new songs from Axl and company, has garnered rave reviews and is easily the most anticipated release of the year.
