MICHAEL MADSEN stars as Morris Poole, a charismatic saxophonist in this contemporary story of cool jazz and hot passion. At the height of his career, Morris Poole loses the only thing really important to him:his wife - his inspiration. Feeling responsible for her tragic death, he withdraws further and further into his own private world of tormenting memories. Morris' agent and friend, Charles, along with Icarus, a fellow musician, struggle to resurrect the musician's career, but to no avail. Morris continues to stagnate in his own depression until the night when he encounters Jasmine, a beautiful, mysterious stranger and her wild friend Darcy. Morris' romance with Jasmine rekindles his allbut forgotten passion. Rediscovering his once blossoming career, Morris is again able to create. But while the music now flows from his horn, he still is unable to come to grips with his past. When Jasmine rebels, thinking that Morris is merely using her, a confrontationbetween the two lovers puts Morris in the same precarious situation that killed his wife -and he must choose between living and dying.
