The fourth in MATADOR's series of deluxe editions of the five classic PAVEMENT albums is 1997's "Brighten The Corners". The wealth of extra material testifies to the extraordinary creativity of the band during this period.

A rather joyous pop explosion after the complications of "Wowee Zowee", "Brighten The Corners" received both critical acclaim and commercial success, with sales eclipsing its predecessor and radio support for its three singles "Stereo", "Shady Lane" and "Embassy Row". BTC is the band's most exquisite, sweet, multiplicitous and downright gorgeous album.

The 2CD "Brighten The Corners" deluxe edition is packaged in an embossed slipcase with a gorgeous 62-page perfect-bound booklet, containing a huge essay by New Yorker critic Alex Ross.

Like the previous three deluxe Pavement editions, this compilation was curated by Jesper Eklow working with the band. Disc one is the remastered original 12-song album, plus 8 extra bonus tracks. Disc two features another 24 bonus tracks. Both discs contain B-sides, compilation tracks, studio outtakes and radio sessions (including sessions for JOHN PEEL, KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and BBC RADIO 1's "Evening Session"). The collection contains 20 unreleased tracks of which 8 are unreleased songs.
