Gotcha! The Navig8r in car/portable High Definition digital video recorder (Crashcam) will record everything leaving no doubt as to what happened in the event of an incident/accident. Easy to setup, simple to use and highly effective, this car DVR has 8 infrared illuminators which allows for better recording at night or in low light. The True 720p high definition video (other products are merely software enhanced ("interpolated") - to look like 720p) gives you enough detail to pick out number plates, street signs and even the faces of witnesses. Recording in a continuous loop, the Navcam-HD turns on when you car is on and turns off when you switch off the ignition so simply "set and forget". You can even choose to leave the unit on (it has a rechargable battery) when you're not there and the Navcam-HD will start recording as soon as it senses a movement... ideal for those times when your car is unattended in a car park. Playback of files is also a breeze. The Navcam-HD can playback content on the colour LCD or it can connect to a PC or a TV with the supplied cables.

I bought another brand of Car Camera from EBAY, which despite all the promises turned out to be crap. I've use the Crashcam HD on a few long trips already and have captured amazingly clear images (better with slower traffic) which makes the other car DVR look like a toy. my tip is buy a BIG SD card and mount it high up (behind the rearview mirror is good for me. Highly recommended.
ok video but lacks features

Bought two of these on special (you have to pay postage on each one): + video quality is ok and is actually 720p + wide angle view covers corners of car too - focus could be better, only clearly in focus very close up. Not adjustable (lens is cemented in postion) despite what reviews and manufacturers website says - can not set it to continue recording for a period after ignition off eg. when car is parked, even though it has internal battery. You can only manually make it continue until the battery is flat, not very useful - IR leds work upto about 20cm, pointless - the image flip is not remembered, you have to press it at every power up - good suction cup, but flimsy fitting of camera to bracket, needs Bluetak to fit it tightly otherwise it vibrates and falls off - no adjustable EV setting, as it's wide angle half the image is the sky which makes it darken the remaining image too much. You have to point it down (at your car) so it brightens up. - poor low light performance. Really ca

my review was cut short, continued: - can not see much at night - very slow menu operation eg. when setting the time, you have to press the button to advance one digit at a time, wait for the beep, wait for it to change then press again. - despite being 720p, still can not see rego plate numbers when video is played back. Probably as it's not focused correctly.

I bought this product for my husband after fathers day as I bought another brand and he said it wasn't working properly. I returned it and bought this one. He loves it. He drives a lot for work and and thinks this product really captures images and video well. He also thinks it may help with his insurance premiums being reduced so perhaps more shopping for me :). I suggest you buy one and it's a great price from JB.

I bought this product at the beginning of last week from a gift voucher I received from my kids on Father's Day. After seeing all the reviews on Today Tonight and A Current Affair earlier this year I wanted to see what the hype was all about and decided to part with $68 + freight of the $150 voucher I received. I was sceptical at first, however after almost two weeks of use I must say my scepticism has totally been removed. As I do a lot of driving as a rep, I can’t believe the quality of this product when I previewed the footage on my PC. The HD playback quality when driving is amazing. Even at night the quality is still good. You can see clearly what’s in front of you as well as to the sides. Driving on the Freeway was a little difficult to see at night as there are no road lights to lighten up the area. I have fitted it behind the rear view mirror on my windscreen and you hardly notice its there. You have to purchase a MicroSD card as one doesn't come with the box. I bought a 16GB
