  | Nuvi 2495 user review G Young on 05.08.2012 Situation: Experienced driver, recently moved to Sydney, very general sense of direction around wider Sydney area. Primarily driving within the Eastern Suburbs area. Experience of just one older model of GPS unit. Review: In heavily built up areas the unit generally picks up signal between 5-10 seconds. Turns on from complete shutdown within 10-15s; turns on immediately from sleep mode. Will run for around 3-4 hours on full charge. Fairly responsive touchscreen. Does respond to finger sweeps to move screen about however it's nothing like an ipad, prefers that you use touch/tap input rather than sweeping. Brightness is good during full daylight. Volume is good for direction finding however is not so good for bluetooth phone calls where it's too quiet - need to turn up to max to hear properly, which is distracting while driving, and then the direction finding is too loud. Direction finding doesn't interrupt too often, just as necessary. Seems to pick up all the warning spots - c |
