 | Pinnacle PCTV nano stick USB 73e HD TV TUNER J. C. on 03.02.2009 Purchased in September 2008 for use on my notebook, I found the 73e itself to be an excellent; easy to use; single tuner USB DVB-T/HD TV tuner. Once it's setup and properly tuned in, the picture quality is excellent, both for watched programs and recorded ones. Being a single tuner unit, watching one program whilst recording another; and picture-in-picture viewing, can't be done on the 73e. When not connected to my notebook, the compact size makes the tuner easy to store among my collection of USB thumb drives. The price-tag on the 73e makes it an eminently affordable way to turn any suitable computer into a TV. And whilst it's not mentioned in the System Requirements on the packaging, the 73e also works with third-party media centre applications in Linux. The software though, is Euro-centric. This means that a lot of what the software can do, does not apply here in Australia. The supplied remote, while in keeping with the concept of the product, is really too small for day to day use. I needed to purchase a Logitech Harmony remote for day to day use of the tuner. The supplied antenna is utterly useless. An externally connected antenna is essential. |
| Pinnacle MINI DIGITAL USB HD TV TUNER L. D. on 12.01.2009 I bought this at christmass time and have been using it constantly since. The software and remote convert my laptop computer into a digital TV and DVD recorder. The quality is good, and the software is really easy to use. My only complaint about this product is that the antenna is useless unless all you want to watch is SBS News and ABC2. If you are budget minded, factor in the cost of a small TV antenna, or the cable to connect the tuner to a roof antenna. |
