New coating reduces Ghost and Flare.
The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range.
SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass
We used SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass in this lens for excellent correction of chromatic aberration. This also corrects for fluctuation of aberration due to focusing. High optical performance is demonstrated throughout the entire zoom range.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Excellent all-round lens G. W. on 27.08.2008 For the price, this Zoom Lens is 100% worth the money. Even for a couple of hundred dollars more I'd say the same. -Delivers sharp photos, and the 300mm zoom is great on any >10MP SLR. -The Macro function makes this a lot better use than your normal Zoom, and is preferable to paying $3000 for a prime Macro lens, unless you're a professional. -The only downfall is the less than lightning fast auto-focus, but that's only compared with your >$1000 zoom lenses. -Overall: Highly recommended lens. Coupled with something like a 18-75mm everyday lens and you're well covered in nearly all situations. |
