 | Fantastic Camera R. B. on 30.11.2008 I've had this camera on my 'want list' for nearly a year. Tuggerah ""JB"" packaged me an unbeatable deal. I've spent the last few days 'unravelling' the myriad of features of this camera. The permutations and combinations of of the facilities of this camera for creative photography are seemingly infinite and of the highest standard of any of my preceeding DSLRs. Above all is the speed of use. A 0.1 sec start up! No missing shots... and 12.2 megapixel clarity enables a 'zoomed' print of the contours of fine pollen grains in a flower or the feather _fibres_ of a bird !! A handful of set 'picture modes' at the turn of a dial as well as freedom for absolute control over all photography parameters enables absolute creative control to do 'anything'..... and all settings are easily seen on the 3"" LCD screen that can be _Seen_ in daylight. The package offered by JB includes a 15-55 and 55-250 image stabilised lenses which are excellent and breathtakingly sharp in resolution. An SD card doesn't come with the camera, but JB priced me an 8gb that gives me over a thousand pictures at highest resolution. As well, I bought a spare battery as one battery will last 'only' around 600 shots or so. Recharging is only something over an hour. Best to have a look at the Canon site for an in depth listing of the features of this camera...... For the JB price ( it's around $500 dollars _less_ than the RRP of a year ago) this camera is an _excellent_ buy for any photography enthusiast. The 200 page manual is literally _crammed_ with operation information that has to be absorbed , but the display on the camera and the intuitive, fingertip operations make this relatively easy. OK..... not a cheap camera.... But 'what you pay for is what you get'.... and the 'package' offered is outstanding'. _No-one_ could be disappointed with this. It's _excellent_ ! --- Ray. |
