Sophie, an average teenage girl working in a hat shop, finds her life thrown into turmoil when she is literally swept off her feet by a handsome but mysterious wizard named Howl. After this chance meeting she is turned into a 90-year old woman by the vain and conniving Witch of the Waste. Embarking on an incredible adventure to lift the curse, she finds refuge in Howl's magical moving castle where she becomes acquainted with Markl, Howl's apprentice, and a hot-headed fire demon named Calcifer. As the true power of Howl's wizardry is revealed, and his relationship with Sophie deepens, our young grey heroine finds herself fighting to protect them both from a dangerous war of sorcery that threatens their world.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Howl Moving Castle Danielle on 18.12.2011 Before I start, there are two parts of my review - 1st is on the quality of the actual DVD and case, 2nd is on the actually movie. Part 1 - If you've bought any other Ghibli Studio movie, the quality of this disc and case will be familiar to you, and if not, there's not much better quality of a disc and case than this. Sure, the disc has minor scratches but a lot less than a lot of other movies I've bought, and the artwork on both the case and the disc is amazing. It'll look good in anyone's Anime collection! Part 2 - Ghibli Studio movies never cease to amaze me. The quality of editing in the background in this movie constantly brings memories of the beautiful artwork of Princess Mononoke. And, even though the characters are simple compared to many other Anime characters, but the background, cel-shading technique and story-line easily makes up for that. Definitely something for any Anime lover! |
Tales From Earthsea (Studio Ghibli) $28.99 (AUD) A ship is tossed on the rough sea. The captain orders a weather-working magician to calm the waves, but the man is unable to remember the true name of the sea and the gale continues to rage. Two dragons appear from the storm clouds and devour each other. For Western dragons to appear over the eastern ocean and feed on one another is an omen of something unthinkable. The balance of the world is collapsing. | $28.99 (AUD) It's a world out of time. A world where a young boy's dreams soar as high as the mythical floating island known as Laputa. Pazu's dreams are about to be realized, when Sheeta, a young princess and government escapee, literally floats down from the skies, saved only by a mysterious, glowing pendant-a pendant comprised of Levitation Crystal | $28.99 (AUD) From the creators of the award winning 'Spirited Away'. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, hailed as one of today's greatest animators. It is tradition for all young witches to leave their families on the night of a full moon to learn their craft. That night comes for Kiki, who follows her dream and embarks on the experience of a lifetime. | $28.99 (AUD) The march of technology, embodied in the dark iron forges of the ambitious Tatara clan, threatens the natural forces explicit in the benevolent Great God of the Forest and the wide-eyed, spectral spirits he protects. When Ashitaka, a young warrior from a remote, and endangered, village clan, kills a ravenous, boar-like monster, he discovers the beast is in fact an infectious "demon god" |
One Piece The Movie - Adventure In Alabaster (Uncut) $12.98 (AUD) The island kingdom of Alabasta is about to erupt in civil war - a war engineered by Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and his criminal organization Baroque Works.
