THE BOSS OF IT ALL is a satirical rib-tickler in the vein of recent "water-cooler comedies". Ravn is the owner of an IT company whose breezy, carefree attitude does not mold well to the cut throat world of high-stakes business. For years he has been blaming unpopular business decisions on an imaginary "boss of it all" so to remain well-liked by his employees. This harmless scapegoating becomes all too real when corporate pressures force Ravn to produce the alleged boss, after which he frantically hires a pretentious out-of-work actor, Kristoffer, to play the part. Kristoffer's tentative morals are ultimately put to the test as his adopted role encourages him to becomes ever more megalomaniacal while Ravn can only watch, horrified at his creation. Laced with irony and the subversion of convention, THE BOSS OF IT ALL proves that Lars von Trier is a superior creator of comedy.
