The hottest bartender in the Midwest, Owen Peadman heads out to a Hollywood bartending contest, confident that he'll win the cash prize. Disappointed when he loses to a hotshot local, Owen turns to his wacky uncle to help him get a job with a local tabloid, where Owen tries to win favor via a story on the hottest new star, Hayden Field. In the process, however, Owen befriends Hayden's girlfriend, Lisa Mancini and falls in love while enjoying the trappings of fame and fortune.
