Charles Chaplin is one of history's greatest cinema actors, writers and directors. For over fifty years Chaplin charmed audiences and critics with his timeless wit and candid take on the state of humanity in masterpieces such as The Great Dictator, Modern Times, The Gold Rush and more. Chaplin and his contribution to cinema have passed the test of time, he remains an adored icon even in the 21st century. Transmission Films and Paramount Home Entertainment are proud to present the definitive, fully-restored Chaplin collection. In the 1923 feature-length silent drama A Woman of Paris, Marie St. Clair believes she has been jilted by her artist fiance, Jean, when he fails to meet her at the railway station. She travels to Paris alone where she becomes the mistress of wealthy Pierre Revel. When Marie St. Clair later reconnects with Jean she must choose between a life of security or true love. Sadly, misinterpreted events soon lead to tragedy. This edition of A Woman Of Paris features a new musical score composed by Chaplin in 1976, a year before his death. This score is credited as being the final completed work of his 75-year career. Watch out for a cameo by Chaplin as a railway porter.
