Empire Records is an independent music store in dire trouble of being sold out to a large chain. It’s a tale of love, personal tragedy, and finding ones true self - with an added splash of a little rock and roll.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Empire Records, open 'til midnight Daniella on 17.10.2011 "Music is the glue of the world, it's what holds it all together." Has there ever been a more accurate quote? The answer I think you're looking for is..no, there hasn't. This movie is in my teen favourites from the 90s'. I fell in love with it all the moment I saw it. Each character, each line, the casting, the soundtrack - everything. Empire Records is based upon a group of teenage kids experiencing a somewhat eventful day at work, or at least they like to call it work. Would you call listening to music, busting shoplifters, and gambling 'work'? I don't think so. After watching this I guarantee you will want to work in a record store. Music plays such a big part in this movie, and I believe that if the soundtrack was anything less of perfection then the movie would have been a loss. Fortunately the soundtrack is amazing. Each song has been chosen to be played at precisely the right moment. |
