 | Underrated, hilarious comedy Sweet on 15.04.2011 Heartbreakers tells the story of two confident, wicked, and brilliant women who attempt to con men out of their money (and more!). The highlight of the movie is the absolutely brilliant which sets the perfect atmosphere for a very talented cast to work off of each other. Sigourney Weaver, in particular, is an absolute standout as Max Conners; in a role that I truly believe is the best of her career, and this is coming from someone who thought she was brilliant in her many other roles too (Ellen Ripley, in particular). Coupled with Jennifer Love Hewitt, the duo are a riot on screen, and I'd recommend this movie for anyone with a slightly sadistic and mischievous sense of humour. It is nothing like your average Hollywood comedy, which is probably the reason it is so underrated, but it is truly a memorable and hilarious experience. Still my favourite movie to this date! Definitely check it out (although you may want to wait for the Blu-ray version)! |
