Housos is the not so epic, stories of Shazza, Dazza, Franky and Kylie - four best mates from down on the block. Sure, they drink away their problems, they might even have frequent domestics but down on the block it's all for one and one for all.
Housos follows the adventures of the residents of the Sunnyvale Housing Commission in ‘every-town’ Australia. They battle cops and they scam Centrelink, they even have the occasional threesome and swingers party, but once you’re down with the crew in the hood it's "Sunnyvale for life".
Fact of life; Australia is getting dumber, less educated - and at the bottom of the barrel you'll find the fully sick adventures of the residents from Sunnyvale... What does it mean to be a houso? It means that life is far from easy. What do you do if ambulances won't come into your area because kids throw rocks at them? Hmmm, maybe you should steal a fire truck and get to the hospital that way? What do you do if your dad owes thousands to the bikies and your boyfriend needs bail money? Maybe importing shifty boogie boards could solve all your problems. It’s funny how much work they put into actually avoiding real work.
From the creator of ‘Fat Pizza’ and ‘Swift and Shift Couriers’, Pauly Fenech, the assassin of political correctness, does to bogans what Kath and Kim did to lower, middle class Australia. Housos is a fashion statement from Australia’s dodgiest suburbs; thongs, hoodies and Ugg boots will transport you to a world where self-medicating, poorly educated stooges are not only the norm they’re a fact of life. They may be trashy but they are literally as thick as thieves. With the best of the ‘Fat Pizza’ and ‘Swift and Shift Couriers’ ensemble ‘Housos’ brings the real face of Australia’s suburban underbelly to life.

Disability - Episode 1: The Housos fight hard to scam their way onto disability benefits. The Housos scheme to get on the disability pension. Shazza and Kylie have a girl’s night out, Franky buys a car instead of stealing one and much to the shock of everyone in Sunnyvale Beryl attempts pole dancing.
Pregnant – Episode 2: Shazza is about to have a baby and Dazza struggles to get her to the hospital. Shazza is about to give birth but she can’t get an ambulance. Dazza tries to get her to the hospital by train, taxi and even…a wheelbarrow. Angry bus drivers, closed hospitals and road raging drivers make Shazza’s birth the biggest pre-natal drama since the birth of Jesus.
Melbourne – Episode 3: Franky wins a chopper in a tough man competition with local bikies and takes a road trip to Melbourne to visit his gambling brother, Dino. Franky wins a chopper in a tough man competition but he and Kylie breakup after an argument about the colour of it. Not thinking clearly Franky takes a road trip to Melbourne to visit his brother Dino. Swinger’s parties, Crystal, old grudges and dodgy relatives from Melbourne make this the houso road trip from hell.
Green Day – Episode 4: The Housos work for Habib in a dodgy roof insulation scheme set up by the new Mayor of Sunnyvale council.
Franky, Kev and Dazza all need money to keep their de factos off their backs; Dazza tries car jacking while Kev and Franky join Habib in a dodgy insulation scheme. In a strange twist of fate the apartment that’s being insulated is the Mayor of Sunnyvale’s. The not so environmentally friendly episode of Housos.
Thailand Part One – Episode 5: Shazza smuggles illegal steroids into Asia inside a boogie board. Wazza owes money to the bikies and Dazza needs bail money. Shazza decides to help them by making money working for the bikies, her first job? …delivering a boogie board full of illegal steroids to Asia.
Thailand Part 2 – Episode 6: Shazza is lost in Thailand with a boogie board full of illegal steroids and the bikies think she has ripped them off.
The Housos are in Asia trying to smuggle illegal steroids inside a boogie board. Before they can deliver the goods they are captured by jungle terrorists and are held for ransom. Can the Housos get home to Sunnyvale?
Foxtel – Episode 7: Shazza and Kylie force Franky and Dazza to get jobs so that they can buy dodgy pay TV from the Sunnyvale Assassins.
The Sunnyvale Assassins are selling dodgy pay TV boxes, Shazza and Kylie want one desperately so they force Dazza and Franky to get jobs. After a string of failed money making attempts the Housos find out how hard real work can be. Franky decides he would sell his cousin to get hold of free Foxtel. And so he does.
Uncle Doug – Episode 8: Franky needs a jumping castle and Dazza’s Uncle Doug, fresh out of jail, promises to help him get one. Franky desperately needs a jumping castle for his son Anarchy’s 1st birthday. He doesn’t know where to steal one so he asks Dazza’s Uncle Doug (Andy McPhee). Doug is fresh out of jail after 29 years. Stolen cop cars and x-rated jumping castles make this a Houso party you don’t want to miss.
Birthday – Episode 9: Its Dazza’s birthday and his beer, smokes and pie cake have been ripped off. Its Dazza’s birthday and everybody helps out in their own way. Shazza steals a pie cake, Franky steals a fire truck and while stealing a council car the Housos discover documents showing the Mayor wants to move the community into the bush so she can build townhouses. Is this the end of the Sunnyvale Housos?

Not good!

Phil on 18.05.2012

lowest common denominator comedy. Housos isn't as good as fat pizza or swift and shift. I was really disappointed with it. I hope another kind of series from paul fenech with be better.
