Napoleon Dynamite: Sweet! What word could possibly better sum up our experience this year at Preston High?
Actually, I never even thought we'd make it through Student Body Elections but here we are. And to celebrate what we've all learned this year, for this yearbook we've decided to highlight one of Prestons' least popular students. So meet Napoleon Dynamite, whom you might have seen muttering 'Go-osh' and 'Idiot' in the halls. You probably recognise his tight red afro, his moon-boots and hammer-pants and his mean game of one-man tether ball. But there's far more to Napoleon than the laid back nerd you've watched lecture about Loch Ness and get slammed into lockers. Because somehow this oddball managed to turn our school upside down and make the wildest dreams of his friends come true.
Is Napoleon the ultimate outcast, or the reluctant hero of a kickback generation? Either way there's definitely something about the guy that captures the comedy, tragedy, disorientation - and yes, sweetness - of trying to make it through life. Or at least high school.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Ferris Bueller. Larger than life. Blessed with a magical sense of serendipity. He's a model for all those who take themselves too seriously. A guy who knows the value of a day off.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off chronicles the events in the day of a rather magical young man, Ferris (Matthew Broderick). One spring day, toward the end of his senior year, Ferris gives into an overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his girl (Mia Sara) and his best friend (Alan Ruck), to see the sights, experience a day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage and a red Ferrari, life at 17 can be a joy!
Meet the Parents: Male nurse Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is poised to propose to his girlfriend (Teri Polo) during a weekend stay at her parents home. But here's the catch - he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy, ex-CIA father (Robert De Niro) takes an immediate dislike to her less-than-truthful beau.
