Melissa has now become an established part of 'The Strip' - the colourful red light district where her club is located. Having won over the locals she's no longer a 'fish out of water'; but the passionate relationship which developed with Adam (one of her strippers) looks to be turning nasty. But pretty soon there's a new guy on the block who's vying for her attention. Her daughter, Paige, has left her conservative Catholic school but isn't sure whether the liberal state school she's now attending is giving her enough freedom. Mel's pretty sure Paige could use a little discipline in some areas, but she has her hands pretty full with her best friend, bar fly Kathryn. Everyone gets to see a different side of Kath when she falls in love, quits being a party girl and moves in with her gynaecologist, Peter. But will Kath's happiness last? Mel's mother, Leslie, continues to be a thorn in her side, blocking Mel's efforts to track down and reconnect with her estranged father. On top of all this, Mel must find time to deal with the business of the strip club: the feisty strippers, the strange, other-worldly choreographer, the laconic barman, and the excitable women who come along every night to forget their troubles and have a great girls' night out at Man Alive.
