![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Red Dog Michael Ferguson on 13.11.2011 Red Dog is a pure Australian gem. For a totally enjoyable family movie this is it. The Aussie cultural references of the times are classically portrayed without over-indulgence. The cast only has one true lead role but many scene lead roles that are performed perfectly. Some may snipe at the choice of actors for an Aussie film but the overseas influence is (mostly) true to the real story. This is a movie to be enjoyed not dissected. Australia's answer to Americas classic 'Old Yeller' and Red Dog should become a Australian family classic here. |

Whoever created this movie knew the time and the culture of the day well. Nothing like a true blue aussie dog to revive the spirit in someone like me. If your a yank or a pom you probably will not understand the film. If your an Aussie, its life, laughs and tears. |
