Rarely does a fim come along that so illuminates the strength of the buman spriit and the triumph of the heart. Shine is the poignant story of a young man who defies his father's wishes in order to pursue his dreams. Both thought-provoking and powerful it tells a story of rebellion and of individuality throught the eyes of a pianist whose only form of self-expression is found in the keys of his instrument. Incredibly compelling for a film that is essentially a character study of one man, Shine leaves out no detail and masterfully uses the camera to capture an inner turmoil.
