There’s Mini the leader whose strong exterior and controlling nature hides a vulnerable young girl. Liv, Mini’s second in command, a clumsy but beautiful party animal with a big heart. Grace, who seems pure as the driven snow, but even her best friends don’t really know her. And into this group of best mates crashes Franky: super-intelligent, strange and androgynous. The universe bends to her difference and weirdness, and so do these girls – eventually.
Then there are the boys. Rich – a cynical metal-head who will never compromise. His best mate Alo – farmer-boy, pot-head, porn connoisseur. Nick, Mini’s boyfriend, is captain of the rugby team. He’s good-looking, popular, arrogant and unhappy. And Matty, who fits the bill of the tall, dark and handsome outsider. But is Matty all that he seems or does he have a darker edge that no one would’ve ever expected?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | fit into your new 'Skins' J. on 06.12.2011 After the chaos that was Series 4. Skins has returned with 'Generation 3' a brand new batch, fresh faces - no relatives. A brand new beginning. Series 5 introduces us to the 'outcasts' of the school, focusing on the less popular and their dynamic lives. We first meet Frankie who is actually by far my favourite and somewhat reminds me of a mash-up of Sid Jenkins & Cassie Ainsworth. She is shy, out there and independent. The first episode or two may feel a little 'mean girls' which is exactly what Mini and Liv are. Although Series 5 is a lot toned down in both sex and drugs, the language has not been toned down - although 'Generation 3' feels a lot more Disney, in a way it's still 'Skins' and I think with the Series 5 final, Series 6 has a lot of surprises waiting. |
Offspring (Season 1) (5 Dvd Set) $37.99 (AUD) Nina Proudman (Asher Keddie) has a simple quest - to deal with her fabulously messy family, her ex-husband, the intensity of a job delivering babies, and the hunt for a decent love life - whilst also handling her tendency to over-think, fantasise, and wonder about life's other little mysteries. | Vampire Diaries, The - Season 2 $47.99 (AUD) They're back - and they're not alone. The seductive characters of The Vampire Diaries return for a stunning 5-Disc 22-Episode Season Two. | $47.99 (AUD) After a family member eliminates a competitor with a croquet mallet, the Weeds family hits the road again in the sixth season of the Showtime dramedy. With his relationship in tatters, Andy (Justin Kirk) joins up with Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) and the boys. On the way to Seattle, the Botwins become the Newmans, who aim to lead a non-drug dealing existence. | $32.99 (AUD) The Class of 2009 is headed up by the beautiful and mysterious Effy (Kaya Scodelario), returning as the new queen bee; her best friend Pandora (Lisa Backwell) is sweet and kooky and keeps the new gang together. Twins Katie (Megan Prescott) and Emily (Kathryn Prescott) are pulling in different directions. One wants to shed her identity as a twin and gain social status while the other hangs on, crippled by shyness |
