Arguably Fellini's greatest film, La Dolce Vita is a searing critique of celebrity-obsessed society as seen through the eyes of a fluff-peddling journalist, Marcello Mastroianni, who chronicles 'the sweet life' of fading aristocrats, second-rate movie stars and aging playboys, Lust, adultery, loneliness and tragedy follow the philandering Marcello as he vainly vies for the affections of a vivacious screen goddess while fleeing his obsessive, suicidal fiance.
