Patrick Bateman is a young handsome, Harvard educated, Wall Street success, seemingly perfect with his stunning fianc e and entourage of high-powered friends. But his circle of friends doesn't know the other Patrick Bateman, the one who lusts for more than status and material things. With a detective hot on his trail and temptation everywhere, Patrick Bateman can't fight his terrible urges that take him on the pursuit of woman, greed and the ultimate crime-murder! Based on the controversial book by Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho is a sexy thriller that sets forth a vision that is both terrifying and chilling.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wall St gone Crazy Simon on 18.09.2012 American Psycho is an awesome film and book. This is Christian Bales Breakout performance. A well made piece of cinema that will keep you guessing till the end. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Best release, worldwide James on 02.12.2012 American Psycho has been subject to some truly terrible blu-ray releases that have either cropped the image, have slathered it in DNR or it simply hasn't had a blu release yet. Hardcore cinephiles and blu-ray enthusiasts may already be aware, but this Australian release is actually not identical to the rest in the world. It's transfer was taken seriously and there are no problems. In a word to describe how the Australian looks compared to... say the atrocious, DNR slathered US release, this one is "stunning" and dare I say damn near flawless. For anyone on the fence about whether this is worth getting considering how cheap it seems to always be going for, I highly recommend it. If you're a fan, it's well worth your money! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Don't Just Stare At It, Eat It! Mathaios on 05.12.2012 American Psycho is one of the most bizarre films I've seen but definitely one of the best since the turn of the 21st Century, a dazzling and mesmerising psychological thriller you shouldn't miss that sets forth a terrifying and chilling vision. Although the American Blu-Ray release of this film has been polarised by everybody for it's poor picture quality, the Australian release looks astonishing. Christian Bale's performance as the mentally unstable Patrick Bateman is brilliant, it makes you wonder why he hasn't portrayed anyone like this since. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is the release to get! James on 22.04.2013 As previously mentioned by others obviously in the know, the US release is the one a lot of people get. But it's also been the source of a lot of bitter disappointment. It's a bad transfer and a bad release in general. Just to add my opinion of the Australian release to the mix to add confidence to anyone considering it, it's amazing. Well worth buying if you're a fan. If you're yet to see it, there's no finer place to check it out than on this disc. I've seen the US blu-ray and this one and the difference is like night and day. The US release is slathered in DNR, it looks like the transfer has been sourced from a DVD master and the audio on it is weak. The Australian blu-ray looks like CINEMA! All of the natural film grain has been left intact and because of that, there is detail in abundance. Those who hate grain don't understand why it's important that it's left on the film. Blu-ray is about restoring a film to it's original and intended appearence which was never possible on DVD. |

Beware his mystic touch for you will never be free from his evil grasp! | $6.99 (AUD) | $19.98 (AUD) Adapted from the Ashenden stories by Somerset Maugham, Secret Agent is one of Hitchcock's few comedy-thrillers. Reunited with the talented team of screenwriter Charles Bennett and actress Madeleine Carroll from his earliest success, The 39 Steps, Hitchcock creates an espionage adventure imbued with laugh-out-loud humour and Hitch's trademark thrills. | $9.99 (AUD) |
