All You Need is Love makes its DVD debut as a lavish boxset containing all 17 episodes of this groundbreaking documentary spread across 5 discs. The series covers the Story of Popular Music encompassing ragtime, blues, jazz, vaudeville, musicals, folk, swing, country and rock'n'roll and features some of the major names from the past 50+ years including John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimi Hendrix, Bing Crosby, Dizzy Gillespie, Muddy Waters, Frank Zappa, Mike Oldfield, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman, Stephen Sondheim, Benny Goodman, The Beach Boys, Sam Phillips, Dave Brubeck, Richard Rodgers, Roy Rogers, Bo Diddley, Phil Spector, Bill Monroe, Bill Graham and many many more.Regarded as cult viewing today, as much as it was on its original broadcast on the BBC 30 years ago. It was in the mid 70's, at the suggestion of John Lennon, that celebrated journalist and film maker Tony Palmer decided to document the story of popular music and set about interviewing all the major players, past and present, at the time. Even in the mid-70s this was seen as a monumental task, but despite the scale of the undertaking, Tony Palmer made a series of films that set the standard to which all subsequent biographers and documentary makers aspired to. The show broadcast across the world between 1976 and 1981.Includes complete performances and extensive interviews rather than clips, as well as never seen before footage, like the rare clip of folk legend Woody Guthrie, and the last interview ever with Bing Crosby.

Rattle and Hum is not a film for anyone looking for an introduction to Irish band U2's career in the 1980s, but it is a vibrant portrait of an established group making its musical pilgrimage through the America it has always imagined through blues, gospel, and early rock 'n' roll.

Opera Italiana / Verdi: Traviata

La traviatta is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. It is based on La dame aux Cam lias (1852), a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils. The title "La traviatta" means literally The Fallen Woman, or perhaps more figuratively, The Woman Who Goes Astray. It was originally entitled Violetta, after the main character.
