One of the most influential outfits in the world, Pink Floyd began life as a humble run-of-the-mill R & B band in the late 60s, but set out to redefine a sound and take it to a new and inspiring level, selling over 200 million albums worldwide in the process. A rare look at the most legendary art-rock band of all time Pink Floyd: Behind The Wall explores the band's remarkable past, from its first dynamic incarnation, through the madness and innovation of Syd Barrett, the triumph of their feature films Live at Pompeii and The Wall, to the bittersweet smash of Wish You Were Here. Featuring revealing anecdotes, interviews and rare performance footage Pink Floyd: Behind The Wall chronicles the band from their auspicious beginnings to the Billboard Album Chart champion of all time, Dark Side of the Moon.
There are two BEHIND THE WALL docos, and this is the boring one
Mark Douglas on 09.08.2012
I was expecting the Behind the Wall documenary from 2000 about The Wall album, the split up of Pink Floyd over the course of The Final Cut, and the following Wall movie. HOWEVER, this is another documentary by the same name filmed in 2011 and it focuses on Syd Barrett primarily. If you're a fan of Pink Floyd there is nothing here that is new. I recommend the Syd Barrett Story DVD in association with the Behind the Wall DVD which I hope is the one included in the The Wall Immersion box set. Because THAT is one great documentary.
A worthwhile choice

If you want to see some very interesting interviews this will not disappoint. Friends of Syd, Roger and Gilmore are featured [plus the band themselves] with the emphasis is on the early days. Well produced and a worthwhile choice for any Floyd fan
