A wooden St. Patrick's Church stood on the site now known as Dublin 8 from the 5th century to about 1191, when the church was raised to the status of cathedral. The present building, the largest church in Ireland, was built between 1191 and 1270, and it is here, that Tommy Fleming wanted to capture the setting of this beautiful Irish Cathedral in this unique concert. The songs that were chosen for this unique concert were preformed in an acoustic and simple style which befitted the historical magnificence of this building. Old, new and contemporary classics that seemed to take a life of their own when preformed in these historical surroundings, like, "Song For Ireland" Only Our Rivers Run Free" And the "The Old Triangle" these songs Represent the Irish heritage of poets and play rights such as Brendan Behan where Dublin City was their home and their inspiration. Ralph McTell and Jimmy McCarthy represent the more modern and contemporary writers, with their songs "Bright blue rose, Clare to here" and The Irish girl" These writers are widely regarded as modern day Irish poets. A powerful tenor in his own right, Tommy Fleming continues to break the boundaries of genre expectations, combining rock, classical, contemporary and other musical styles to deliver anunforgettable live experience. Hailed by critics and music lovers alike, Fleming's performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral flawlessly captures the energy, charisma and the soaring voice that drawn legions of fans from around the world. Tommy is accompanied by a five piece band and the gentlemen of St Patrick's cathedral choir
