Robert S. McNamara was one of the most controversial and influential political figures of the 20th Century. As Secretary of Defence under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, he was leader of the worlds most powerful military force during one of the worlds most turbulent eras. Now for the first time ever, he sits down one-on-one with Errol Morris to offer a gripping account of the last half-century of American politics. An up-close-and-personal interview plus newly released archival footage and recorded White House conversations give a riveting insight into the events like the firebombing of Tokyo, the near nuclear catastrophe of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the devastating effects of the Vietnam War. A witness to and participant in the events that have shaped our world today. McNamaras is a story that must be told and The Fog of War is a masterpiece that must be seen.

The Fog of War

Brock on 08.05.2012

This is in my opinion the greatest Documentary ever made. Errol Morris directing and Philip Glass's soundtrack add amazing but the real star of the show is Robert S. McNamara who reveals about his past from growing up, fighting in world war two, becoming President of Ford, Secretary of Defense, President of the world bank to finally reflecting back as an old man. Robert McNamara is a genius and his words not only give us new information about what happened in the past but more importantly give us an insight into what it means to be human and the complexity of the problems the human race faces. Never has a documentary been so fascinating and relevant to everyone. I can't recommend this movie enough.
