Ping Pong Salvage: Adam and Jamie try out a myth which first surfaced in a Donald Duck cartoon way back in the 1940s: raising a sunken boat from the seabed using ping pong balls. Having established that the principle of ping pong salvage is plausible in theory, Adam and Jamie scout around for a suitable vessel. The big question remains do the guys have the balls to float their boat?
Carried Away: The build team take center stage to answer the question raised by countless Hollywood movies - just how many fairground balloons would it take to lift a kid and whisk her off into the wild blue yonder?
Exploding House: An unfortunate home-owner is beset by roaches. To kill them, he buys bug foggers. One would have been enough for his tiny house, but in his desperation he buys more than a dozen, and sets them off. He leaves the house while it's fogged, which is recommended, but urban legend has it that the oven pilot light ignites the gas, blowing his home to pieces. Is it possible? Jamie and Adam aim to find out. Armed with dozens of foggers, and given unlimited access to a condemned apartment, they set about replicating the myth.
Needle In A Haystack: Jamie and Adam compete to find out how hard it really is to literally find a needle in a haystack. Each builds a machine they think will do the job. Each has a thousand pounds of hay to search. And each has four needles to find, including one made of bone to confound metal detectors and magnets.
Talking To Plants: The build team has a two month mission to determine if talking nicely to your plants makes them grow better. They also test classical music and death metal. The painstaking experiment takes its toll on Tori, Scottie and Kari, but the results are clear, and surprising.
