Dragon Age: Origins certainly dropped the player right in it, with an epic quest to save the world. This time round, the story is much more grounded, with the player experiencing the lengths one child will go to in order to protect their family. Taking place over the course of ten years, players take on the role of Hawke, a refugee following the destruction of his/her hometown of Lothering. The game itself plays much like other RPG’s, with the normal Leveling and Gearing aspects being a key part of game play. For those familiar with the producer, Bioware, DA 2 plays much like a combination of Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2, with the primary change from DA:O being the introduction of a fully voiced main character and a similar speech wheel to Mass Effect.
