MGS2 is the last in the series if you play in chronological order. I recommend that you play through it first as everything in MGS3 will become a lot clearer if you play through 2 first. You may get dissapointed at points, but overall, it's an incredibly strong game through and through. MGS3 is the best of the series. It upgrades all the concepts that were built on in MGS2, and adds it's own. New things include survival skills, camoflauge and epic boss fights. You will primarily be facing off against Cobra unit. The best fight being against The End, a 100 year old sniper that is good at lying very still. The ending to the game is extremely moving. I have never been so touched by anything in gaming before.
