Twin HD tuner, SD memory card slot and archiving function
A twin HD tuner means you can record 3D digital broadcasts in Full High Definition. If you don’t have a digital TV, this also allows you to watch a digital broadcast and record it simultaneously. The PWT500 features an SD memory card slot, making it easy to view movies (AVCHD format) and still images captured with an HD camcorder or digital still camera.
Connect to your home and the world beyond it
For enhanced connectivity, the PWT500 offers DLNA as server and client, allowing files to be shared across a range of devices throughout the home. Watch the same movie the kids are watching in another room, or look at photos from your latest trip all access from the one device. The unit also features built in Wi-Fi, so you can easily connect to VIErA Cast and enjoy real-time calls with family and friends via Skype. You can also watch videos on YouTube, check out photos on Picasa and keep up to date with stock information and weather forecasts on Bloomberg.

Missing a Skype call will be a thing of the past. With the PWT500, your friends will be able to leave a Skype message if you are unable to pick up the phone call. Simply press the Skype button on the player remote control to answer the call or insert a SD card, record a message and let the player take a message from your friend.

  | Panasonic DMR-PTW5000GL Justin on 29.06.2011 A very good PVR BD combo. Control for the BD is cumbersome as the remote is set up for PVR functions. there is no subtitle button on the remote. The PVR itself is good although there is no archiving function as stated, the skip forward and reverse are preset to 60 sec and 15 sec and are not adjustable also it's slow to respond. Viewing a third channel (on the same stream) while recording 2 is not possible. Guide is very good, fast and responsive. Picture quality is brilliant. |
| DMR-PWT500GL blu ray jem on 17.07.2011 Good picture quality. Disappointed that it will not accept my external hard drive that I had thought it was capable of. Only takes USB sticks. I have not found out how to get it to record in a more compressed manner. You cannot record from HDD to disc or stick. 320 Gb only records 77hours. This becomes a problem. To get to recorded titles you need to go through 4 actions. Guide is very good. Manual was not great. Took awhile to work out how to record things weekly. No Daily option. |
