Purchased one from JB HiFi November 2011 and installed. It worked at about 60% of channels the rest of the channels were either pixelated or showed no signal. Upon seeing this proceeded to check aerial connections and even connected another TV to the same cable and all channels worked fine. I have line of sight to the transmission tower so therefore there is no obstruction to my signal reception. I returned the unit to JB HiFi and explained the problem and were happy to exchange for a new unit. Installed the new unit and again encountered similar problems! I have since returned the product for a full refund and advised the store that this product based upon my experience should be withdrawn from sale from all stores. My advice , based on this is to steer clear of this product and it should be withdrawn form sale until the faults are rectified. I rated this product 1 STAR NOT BY CHOICE but really I WOULD RATE IT MINUS 5 STARS (Complete waste of time and money)
Does the job well

Pros: Easy to use, just plug and play. Automatically detects and receives all HD digital channels. USB record function works well and is also easy to use. Watch recorded programs on your TV or PC. Full TV program guide. Handy small size. Cons: Only that the box and remote physically reflect cheap price in build quality. As does the onscreen menu.
good for the price

Picked mine up from JB today (March 2012), and so far so good. Set it up, channel scan was reasonably quick. Only started to get warm after about 3 hours of recording. Haven't had a chance to play recordings back yet, but quality is still pretty good, even on RCA connections. Overall, this is a good product if you are just looking for a set-top box or PVR. Although I would recommend using HDMI for HD TV.

Dissappointed on 21.10.2012
Easy to use and delight to buy at $40 (March 2012). Picks up around 60-70% of all channels. Encountered 1st fault around after 5 months where channels were either pixilated or blank. Replaced it at JB HIFI without an issue and the 2nd unit did not even power up. Replaced it at HIFI without an issue and 3rd unit (sept 2012) worked ok just like the 1st. Now (Oct 2012) the 3rd unit froze when I was doing an auto rescan. I powered it off from the mains and it never powered up again - dissappointed to say the least. Going back to JB HIFI today, maybe get the next cheapest one - haha!

Needed to replace my old YES set top as it could not pick up the newer TV channels. Soniq was dearer then than what is currently being quoted. First one just blinked and the TV went off on off and could not get it to work longer than a few minutes. Went back and replaced it with another model. Setup was straight forward but when it was working it would be flicking off every 5 minutes and some days even worse. After an hour or so it would settle down to a off on every half hour or so. Very unreliable.
