Crooner is an American epithet given to a male singer of 1920's to the early 1960's pop standards, mostly from the Great American Songbook, The singer is normally backed by a full orchestra or big band. Crooning is not so much a style of music as it is a technique in which to sing. Among the first crooners were Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Al Bowlly & Dean Martin who also incorporated other popular styles into their music, such as Blues and Dixieland. Crooners have remained popular among fans of traditional pop music, with contemporary performers such as Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr, & Robbie Williams keep the form alive. While both male and female singers can sing in this style, the term is rarely used to describe a female singer. This compilation features The Best & The Greatest Crooners including, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Al Bowlly, Mel Torme & Nat King Cole.

The second album by celebrated North Carolina collective Lost In The Trees. The extraordinary record, entitled A Church That Fits Our Needs, is a work of vaulting ambition, a cathedral built on loss and transformation. In the summer of 2009 writer, composer, and general architect of the group, Ari Picker, lost his mother, an artist in her own right, when she took her own life.

He never intended to be a performer – let alone become a superstar – but Richard Clayderman has in fact sold more records than the likes of Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Adele, Jay Z and Lady Gaga. Today, his distinctive piano reinterpretations of familiar tunes from every era and genre are still heard in every corner of the world. Whether we know it or not, his music has become the soundtrack of our lives. In 2013 Clayderman will not only celebrate his 60th birthday, but will release ‘Romantique’ – his first album in more than a decade.
