For some bands, making the same album over and over again just doesn't fulfill the members' musical desires. Orange County, California's Thrice is one of those bands. Having changed styles from record to record throughout their career, their latest album, The Alchemy Index: Vols I &II: Fire & Water, is by far the most unique, creative music the band has made to date. The album features two EPs, the Fire disc and the Water disc. Each disc showcases a different side of the band's styles, Fire leans heavier and shows comparisons to the band's old sound. The Water disc features lush soundscapes and quiet rock. Dustin Kensrue's mature, broad vocals adorn both discs masterfully.
