Do the robot are a husband and wife project, with the two core members Matthew Deasy and Sera Mucha fated together. Matthew has previously played drums in Kicks and Scul Hazzards before picking guitar up with Sera, with the assistance of friends playing percussion when they are not using their low-fi beat box. They draw influences from My Bloody Valentine, The Cocteau Twins, early New Order, Swervedriver, Ride, The Jesus and Mary Chain and have recently played with Adam Franklin, Mum, Laura, Rational Academy & I Heart Hiroshima
