The UK's most arresting young new band, These New Puritans are four Southend 19-year-old-punks gearing up to release their blistering debut album, 'Beat Pyramid'. Recorded with producer Gareth Jones (Einsturzende Neubauten, Liars, Wire), these songs are an ever-mutating blur of brash chords, subtle details and taut rhythms, borne of influences as disparate as Sonic Youth and dubstep, This Heat and Greek pottery, David Lynch and Dr. Feelgood, J Dilla and 16th century occultist John Dee. Formed in 2005, the band has incited fever pitch on the underground scene over the last 18 months with their furious live shows. They were also commissioned to write the soundtrack for 2007's Dior Homme Paris show and count The Klaxons amongst their biggest fans.
