The Blackout are a post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. Named Kerrang's 'best unsigned band' last year; this year The Blackout is going straight from number one draft pick to top of the league. The Welsh screamo-rock sextet's Epitaph debut The Best In Town resembles an aural entry into a boxing ring: album opener "ShutTheF**kUppercut" really delivers what it promises, a powerful sonic right hand to the chin. Ian Watkins, singer of Lostprophets, appears on the track "It's High Tide Baby!". The Best in Town is produced by Jason Perry (A).
