Blending musical genres from hip hop to dub and fusing members from Babyshambles to the Arctic Monkeys, Mongrel are indeed what they say. This hybrid consists of Arctic Monkeys bassist Anddy Nicholson, Babyshambles guitarist Drew Mc Connell, Reverend and the Makers frontman Jon McClure, Makers' keyboard/horns man Joe Moskow and, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. Mongrel's sound fuses dub-drenched bass lines, hip hop beats and slightly politicised lyricism. This double CD set also features a host of collaborations with some of the freshest srtists around, including Mpho, Skinnyman, Tor Cesay, Pariz 1, Saul Williams, Kyza, and Mic Righteous to name a few.
