Birds Of Tokyo - BROKEN STRINGS TOUR, THE In 2009 Perth rockers Birds Of Tokyo came up with an idea to show Australian audiences a very different and unexpected side to the band. By stripping their music back to the barest framework then rebuilding it with acoustic based sounds and delicate orchestration, Birds of Tokyo created a sonic concept that showcased the complexity and depth in their music, qualities that can often be overlooked in a full tilt rock show.

In 2009 Perth rockers Birds Of Tokyo came up with an idea to show Australian audiences a very different and unexpected side to the band. By stripping their music back to the barest framework then rebuilding it with acoustic based sounds and delicate orchestration, Birds of Tokyo created a sonic concept that showcased the complexity and depth in their music, qualities that can often be overlooked in a full tilt rock show. It was with this sound that Birds Of Tokyo took their Broken Strings show on the road enthralling audiences in sold out venues across the nation. Working closely with renowned producer, composer and long-time collaborator, Anthony Cormican, who had previously written and arranged strings on the band's Day One and gold-selling Universes albums - Birds Of Tokyo have taken the wonderful '90s format of the 'unplugged' show, and given it a healthy dose of grandiosity. Wanting the experience to be more daring and involved than merely picking up acoustic guitars and brushes instead of running with amplifiers and drum sticks; the band performed with a host of instruments - from ukuleles to 12-string guitars specifically incorporating them into an ensemble of string quartet and grand pianist. The album was recorded at The Enmore Theatre on 14/11/09 and the Melbourne Town Hall on 15/11/09.

Every now and then a band comes along and speaks to the hearts of kids everywhere, as the true voice of their generation. Man Overboard is that band. In an age when overnight internet sessions are an everyday occurrence, it's hard to find a band that's grown organically, the old fashioned way, with word of mouth and non-stop touring while winning kids over one show at a time. Man Overboard has been busy touring the world non-stop for the past 3 years, having shared the stage with the likes of Senses Fail, Polar Bear Club, Set Your Goals, and more. The bands buzz reached New Found Glory's guitar player Steve Klein who fell in love with their infectious pop-punk sound and catchy choruses. He was so impressed with the band that he offered to produce the bands self-titled Rise Records debut. Man Overboard is humbled by their success, but also know that they still have a long road ahead of them. In the grand scheme of things, it's only the beginning. Man Overboard will be touring this fall
