Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are a five piece consisting of Philadelphian songwriter Alec Ounsworth (vocals/guitar) and Lee Sargent (guitar/keyboards), his twin brother Tyler Sargent (bass/backing vocals), Robbie Guertin (guitar/keyboards) and Sean Greenhalgh (drums).
The band’s live shows generated an astonishing word of mouth that led to sales of over 25,000 copies of their self-titled debut album that they packed and posted from their front rooms. Since then, Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) has stepped in and agreed to distribute the album in shops across North America, the second time ever that the company has worked directly with an unsigned band.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have received numerous accolades from the music press, including selection as a “Hot Band” in Rolling Stone’s annual “Hot Issue” and were the NME’s pick of the CMJ Music Marathon in September.
The band’s first-ever North American tour included sold out rooms across the continent, including shows in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, and more. In October, CYHSY made their Los Angeles debut with a sold out two-night stand at the legendary Troubadour.

This has all been incredibly organic and is a sign of just where the band will go in the future. Arguably one of most important bands for 2006, we are extremely pleased to bring you the revamped album for release, with 5 bonus live cuts recorded in Minneapolis earlier this year.
