JEFF MAY is a Dublin-born, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter who has been quietly carving a niche in the growing local acoustic movement for the last couple of years. His new album, 'Confessions', displays a maturity that belies its debut status . One can hear traces of the sounds and style of JEFF BUCKLEY, NEIL YOUNG, NICK DRAKE and ELLIOTT SMITH amongst others, but the songs filtered through Jeff's unique voice, with an almost unconscious nod to his Celtic heritage; they become something fresh, exciting and new. 'Confessions' was produced with the help from renowned producer and multi instrumentalist RICHARD PLEASANCE. PAUL HESTER also helps shape Jeff's songs by adding is his on inimitable style on the drums in his last studio performance. The twelve songs are unmistakably the work of an emerging talent on the Australian music scene.

On The Impossible Past

$19.99 (AUD)

Rising punk rock band The Menzingers create a rousing sound featuring crashing power chords, rock steady drumming and anthemic sing-along choruses alongside powerfully poetic everyman lyrics. On The Impossible Past is the group's Epitaph Records debut album. On The Impossible Past was recorded at Atlas Studios in Chicago with longtime collaborators Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms) and Justin Yates. While the record retains all the raucous spirit of the band's earlier efforts sonically, it's a monumental step forward.

Reach For The Sun

$21.99 (AUD)

Straightforward, earnest rock music seems to be a contradiction from the direction popular music has strayed as of late. The need for genuine lyrics, purposeful direction and accessible melodies has been long overdue. The Dangerous Summer have crafted a throwback to the days when music was charged with hope and contained a much-needed brand of sincerity.
