"Crash Love" was the album that AFI fans around the world were hoping that it would be. After what was seen as a departure in their true sound with their last effort, "Crash Love" re-ignited the fire all over the world. The band pushed production value aside for gritty and passionate rock numbers that provide glimpses of the group that created a punk rock empire in the late 90's.
Lead single "Medicate" was an instant success alongside the beautiful vocals and guitar work in "Beautiful Thieves" and "End Transmission". The hauntingly sweet "Darling, I Want To Destroy You" is reminiscent of AFI's most successful era allowing fans to embrace, and new fans a chance to see what AFI are capable of. "Sacrilege" takes fans back even further to the days where lead singer Davey sang about his social beliefs; and this one packs a punch!
While another massive departure from AFI’s glory days, “Crash Love” is a more obvious progression in their sound and fans are much happier for it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Forget Smooth Criminal, we are BEAUTIFUL THIEVES! KeeganEatsPie on 14.08.2011 AFI have been on a roll in the past few years, and with the new album 'Crash Love' it looks like we have more AFI goodness in the future. Now AFI used to be an all out screamo band but now they are punk GODS. This album starts off with a song called 'Torch Song' which proves overall kind of boring until one of there newest singles begins to play. 'Beautiful Thieves' is a song to be remembered and enjoyed, although many would have never heard it...they should. The song explodes into it's choruses and proves that AFI can still rock out. After that we have some catchy tunes but nothing memorable UNTIL we reach the next single 'Medicate'. Now electric or bass (hard to tell) guitarist Jade Pudget has never really 'WOWED' us, sure 'Miss Murder' showed us some raw skill...but in 'Medicate' we really see his talent. |
