Easily one of the busiest people in indie rock, vocalist/keyboardistSpencer Krug of the critically hailed Montreal band Wolf Parade, is a parttime Frog Eyes member - he also leads Sunset Rubdown. Sunset Rubdown was once the moniker under which Spencer Krug released lowfidelity solo recordings but the project has long since evolved into a full band, andDragonslayer is the third full-length recorded by the whole group. The album was recorded in the US fall of 2008. From what sounds at first to be anonly slightly skewed approach to pop, the aim was for the hidden complexity withinthe albums tracks to emerge slowly via the straight production and raw musicianship.
